Pendant Lights. Monday , February 12th , 2018 - 14:42:57 PM
Pendant lights is simply a fancy way of saying hanging lights. But they do differ from swags or chandeliers significantly. A pendant is going to hang down at least two feet from the ceiling. It will be singular meaning, one strand, one shade, one bulb. When should you use this style of light fixture? First, my favorite place to install pendant lighting is the kitchen. There they are useful as well as beautiful. What you get with pendant is focused lighting. That is perfect for kitchen work, where you are preparing food and reading recipes.
They can be used as your primary lighting for a room or they can be used as supplemental lighting to create drama, add more light to a specific area, such as a kitchen counter top, or create focal points in the room, such as adding pendants over a buffet in the dining room or over your desk in your home office. If there is a general rule of thumb about what constitutes mini pendant lights, its that they are usually less than 12 in size. Three to four mini pendant lights cast about as much light as two regular pendants that have two bulbs each.
It is very decorative and can highlight a special place or furnishing in the area. Pendant glow can be used to liven up the place by using it to illuminate paintings or special flower vases, or particular furniture like a sofa. Although pendant lighting appears classy, chic and expensive, homeowners need not spend too much to decorate and illuminate their residences with these elegant looking pendant lights, since it is relatively easy to make and create. All that is needed are light bulbs (incandescent or fluorescent), electrical sockets, electrical wires, frames, chain or wire or fishing line (to support the electrical wires where the light will be hanging), old lamp shade frame or lamp globes (which will give the pendant light its character and design).
