Pendant Lights. Saturday , February 10th , 2018 - 14:30:20 PM
They are attractive focal points while still being a functional lighting source. They save space over a floor or table lamp and provide more ambient lighting over greater surface areas. A pendant light is also known as a drop or suspender. It is a lone light fixture that hangs from the ceiling, suspended by a cord, chain, or metal rod. Used by themselves, pendant lights present a striking feature to a room. More often they are hung in multiples in a straight line over countertops, dining tables, or bathrooms.
Depending on the size of the kitchen, a row of two or three pendant lights will look perfect. With the wonderful variety of colors, shapes and lamp shades to choose from, you can find a set of pendants that will compliment your kitchen decor. They are particularly apt in kitchens with an island work space. The pendants drop over the island and it just pulls the room together. If you have a high ceiling, pendants can be a welcome design element in the dining room. I recently saw the coolest light fixture it was a row of three colored bottles.
A multiple pendant is going to have a central globe design with multiple additional lights hanging from it. The number of additional lights can range from 3 to 25. Singles are great for focused task lighting, while multipendants can provide sufficient illumination for a larger space. Pendant lights are great for use in kitchens, especially over kitchen islands where they will be out of the way of traffic and provide focused lighting on the island workstation. Many people like to install them in dark corners as well.
