Pendant Lights. Tuesday , February 13th , 2018 - 17:06:09 PM
A large, single pendant is perfect for an entryway where only one source of lighting is needed. This also makes it an artistic focal point. A big pendant works great above a dining room table for the same reason. Small pendants, like mini globes, are great alternatives to installing track lighting. Their lighting is bright but less intense all around, so it is perfect for task lighting in a kitchen or other work area. Hanging small pendants in multiples allows for sufficient lighting. Make sure to hang them above eye level to prevent glare.
For something rather cosier, a Tiffany style bowl will cast a more subdued and rosy light. These arent the only type of shades available; think of a shape and the chances are somebody has designed a pendant light shade to match. You will find triangles, rectangles, globes, bowls, squares, and probably artful combinations of two or more of them. Then theres frosted glass, painted glass, coloured glass, resin, metal, fabric... The permutations of shape and material are endless and some designers have used them to stunning effect. Pendant lights: beautiful, stylish, effective and, just sometimes, the only sensible choice.
A pendant light, which is also sometimes referred to as a suspender or drop, is a single light that is hung from the ceiling and suspended by a long electrical cord where electric current is supplied to light up the bulb, which may either be made of fluorescent or incandescent. Although there is a minor disadvantage in using a pendant glow instead of a regular lighting fixture (the illumination that the pendant glow emits is limited), the advantages brought about by its use far outweighs the single nuisance of luminosity limitation.
