When you think of Volkswagen Group, sports cars are not something that you would associate with them. However, Audi R8 has changed this perception so some extent. Mostly Audis are very stylish, fast and sleek cars but they don’t come in the same category of sports car manufacturers like Ferrari and Porsche. In 2006, as soon as Audi launched its latest road car R8 V10, every perception was changed. When the R8 V10 was made it wasn’t the 1st design, in fact it was 10 years old design which Audi decided to produce for basic road ownership.

Since then there have been other designs of R8 like R8 Spider and V8. At the end of 2008, the original version of R8 V10 was released all over the world and remains in production to date.
Some people say that this R8 V10 has lot of similarities with Lamborghini Gallardo models, that’s because Lamborghini is owned by Audi AG and they wanted to use some of the design features and part of the R8 V10. Features like chassis, transmission, engine and floorpan were same in both cars.
But there are many unique aspects of Audi R8 V10 as well. Its new aluminium-composite body provides great strength and is also lighter than most of the other carbon bodies. The safety features are also enhanced and they meet very high standards. That safety system is called Bosch ESP 8.0 Electronic Stability Programme, which includes ABS, regulation, differential, distribution and airbag among other safety features.
Audi R8 is one of the most beautifully made sports car with the exception that it does not include powerful V10 engine. However, the V10 version is using same engine as in supercar Lamborghini but there are many other improvement also.
The R8 V19 has a 5.2 FSI internal combustion engine and able to reach top speed of 200 MPH which is also electronically controlled. This car can reach 60 MPH in 3.9 seconds only and able to produce 516 horsepower. Total cost of R8 is around $146,000 USD.
A fresh R8 V10 comes with improved aerodynamics, different bonnet, font grill, side skirts and rear bumper. Its new front spoiler gives the car more down force and its 20 inch lightweight wheels looks great as well.
The interior can also very comprehensively designed for its customers. Customers can choose preferences matching their own tastes.
